Bhai Parminder Singh (Surrey)

Bhai Parminder Singh Ji (Surrey) gained a lot of popularity within the Sikh Youth in the last 5-6 years of his life. He was born in 1976 and passed away young at the age of 28 in year 2004. Bhai Sahib met with a car accident while traveling to Calgary from Surrey. Along with Bhai Parminder Singh, Bhai Charanjit Singh (Gatka) and Bibi Rena Kaur also passed away in in the horrific accident.

Bhai Sahib started the [Guru Nanak Academy] in Surrey and organized several camps throughout the North America, especially in Surrey and California. Main reason behind his popularity was his influential ability as an English Kathaa Vaachik.

Bhai Sahib left behind his wife Rupinder Kaur and daughter Japnaam Kaur who are currently living in British Columbia province of Canada.

The Guru Nanak Academy is still in existence and run by volunteers mainly from Vancouver and Surrey. Regular kirtan, santhiya, kathaa and gatka classes are administered free for the youth and elders.
